Favorite Recipes
Here is one of our favorite recipes. Please let me know how you like them, and maybe return the favor by posting a favorite of your own! :)
Baked Oatmeal
(Times this by 3 if you have 10 children!)
½ cup butter, melted
3 cups oatmeal (we used the old fashioned kind)
½ t salt
½ cup brown sugar (may be substituted with honey, if desired)
2 t baking powder (aluminum free is best!)
2 eggs
1 cup milk (we used dried buttermilk, and add water to make the right amount)
2 t vanilla
Cinnamon to taste
Blueberries, raisins, or chopped apples as desired. (We use frozen blueberries usually.)
Bake at 350 degrees for ½ hour, or till lightly golden around the edges and top.
Serve with milk, or enjoy it alone. My kids love it!
